She shows signs of nausea even though she’s on ondansetron.We bringing her back to vet’s later, I think may be no choice but put feeding tube.“ – I’m totally puzzled by this case whete the v first bloodworks I don’t understand why shebe need hospi (We hospi at the advice of Dr YM & Romilly cos they said her risk of sepsis is high) 

till become don’t eat. Why fever never mention give meloxicam ah? Like worsening leh. 

“Dr D said on call this morning, she don’t understand why Sheba still nausea when she’s on the strongest anti nausea meds. She say up to us if we want to do the abdominal ultrasound, in case we feel something may have been missed out.” – they did under dr ym. 

“U/s shows a lot of inflammation of the organs, free fluids around the guts.

Suggest for Sheba to go see an internal meds specialist.”

“Dr YM said it might be as minor as just inflammation that her body cannot fight off well cos of FIV, but also got possibility of something more major.” 

“We still trying to see if can get internal meds specialist slot.

Dr YM and Dr D had a chat, they were thinking that it might be best to hospitalize her at Ps, so that she can have nasal tube in and also they can continue close scanning and blood test monitoring.” – day 3 not eating alr. Told mummy that n tube really no use ah. In fact I’m against o tube for sheba cos I scare she vomit n got issue. but all the 24h clinic Erm. So today sheba didnt come 猫房. 

Night: high on bupre and “Tried buffet can food, kibbles and steamed prawn, she all don’t want.”

6.17pm: mummy discharge sheba home:”Spoke with Dr D this afternoon when we went down, Sheba seems very miserable hospitalized.Blood test now all look more normal. Fever on/off, but she still don’t want to eat.Clinic help us give anti nausea, pain relief, fluids, doxy.

So we only have doxy left to do at home, but must get her to eat first before give meds.Tmr we need to update clinic if Sheba has eaten or not, then decide if we need to bring her in for more pain meds or anything else.” – they can’t give jabs at home. 

“Buy buffet spread for Sheba, let her eat whatever she wants to eat.” – she didn’t touch any 

Thur night she eat 2/3 kibble then Fri didn’t eat le. 

Morning info fr mummy: “Vet say she vomited this morning but her wbc and neutrophils look a lot better today. Sheba been having dry skin sometimes (which we guess is why she has those white flakes), so under Dr YM’s suggestion we’ve been giving her antinol (for the omega oils)” – i feel  that she is not active and her belly is so big, but cos I long time didn’t see her can’t confirm is an issue or just cos she is fat? 

“Dr YM also suggested to cut down her daily hypo amount, since need to get her weight down.”

Night: I help dr d pass msg: “Cuz wasn’t eating at all today and vomitted twice, no treatment change. On 2 antibiotic and anti vomit.Also not on pain meds but I think the belly quite tense. I wanted to start with anti nausea and pain meds. Temp 38.9.“It just doesn’t make sense to continue with same meds if the cat is doing worse. “already on Maropitant. I want to give ondansetron for nausea, omeprazole (in case ulcer as it started after pred) and gabapentin

 Sheba had gaba first day and eating very well. I think not changing the plan is not helping at all. If she doesn’t respond, we will stop”

“ALT was much improved but still slightly elevated, no other liver enzymes were checked though”- sheba mummy did ask for more to check but I don’t know what they discuss after this date 

1pm+: mummy Inform me: “Hi Cat, I come back on fb messenger cos thought to let you know that Sheba is not well.. it’s very sudden but her wbc and bone marrow indicators are very low. We just saw Pet space vet today and suspect it’s her FIV+, but will be transferring her to either Beecroft or Landon emergency + internal medicine specialist when we hear which side has specialist that can see her the soonest.” – her photo show alert, but ears super red, having fever – she say ya 39.9. 

“She’s still alert generally, see papa will still meow meow. Yesterday appetite weird. 

Suddenly like don’t want to eat.” 

“ALT high, wbc very low, bone marrow very low (Dr Romilly say lower than cats on chemo)” – let’s see bloodworks to see if it’s scarier than Xiami’s – mummy says it’s not. So I didn’t think she needs to see specialist bah.

10am+: visited sheba at ps. Sayang her lots. 翘屁股 a lot of dandruff come off n that dr r came to talk to me. Don’t think she can recognise pple. I told her I’m not the one she spoke to re sheba. Don’t think she understand n I concentrate on talking n sayang Sheba. Sena visit her a bit too 🙂 

Mummy: “Simba saw Sheba a few times today through the glass door then he keep hissing. Think he stress, even the food also eat lesser. Sheba meanwhile eating dry food better than wet, also got drink water. She very good girl, listen to you. yesterday morning she already come rub rub when I squat down. Very good girl. Happy to see that she settle in very fast and eat very well. Most of her dry food meals finish 100%. She yesterday alr find her way up to the relax area on top of fridge and on top of dryer. Very brave and smart.” 

She went home w Simba le. Think she isn’t meeting Simba gor2 today yet

“Giardia cysts found on direct fecal smear. proceed w plan to tx Giardia as disc ytd.

metro 15mg/kg  feed twice daily and panacur 50mg/kg  once daily for 5days. might have Coccidia also but not shedded in today’s sample, so would recommend to treat prophylactically also if in the same household”

“Both poop is too little and they are dry. So it is very difficult to scoop for test because it is all absorbed in the pallet. Cause the nurse say too little in that 1 container sent to scoop up for test” 

Not doing treatment for sheba. Will Iso her n find chance to do testing for her poo again – went to clinic and they end up did a separate test for for glarcia for her, positive. So just start metro 5 days then. Since the mix 

Giardia/FPV/FCoV test, positive only for Giardia. poor timmy might eat metro for no reason 

Got news that Sheba will be going home w her gorgor in early July, 2 more months her new house will be ready 🙂

Clinic:”“Dr Nally said still bring in Poo sample to check .Pooled samples increase the sensitivity of detecting Giardia so in a way more accurate presentation. That’s why we advises mixed samples. if over night then put in fridge . otherwise 4-5 hours is ok” – 5h apart how to poo another time, so don’t make sense, will send out the next batch of fresher poo. 

“Also, if the Poo is still not back to normal it is likely Giardia is not entirely cleared yet so extend metronidazole for another 7days. I often look at both clinical sign as well as the faecal test result together.” – given metro to Sheba this morning – she must be thinking why I lie to her

Now day n Night I make her sad n unhappy after she excitedly see me for sayang – so sad wor. I sayang her more say sorry to her for the Medi n she willing to eat. 

10am: poo 3/10 

Generally food intake ok, but this can’t go on ah. 

I 1030am got check again no new poo. 

143pm: confirm the poo (2/10) is within 3h, I lalamove to clinic to do testing:  

“Sheba is positive for Giardia – cause of her bloody stools. Wet mount negative for other parasites. She needs metronidazole and fenbendazole.Metronidazole 15mg/kg 2x daily for 7days.

Fenbendazole 50mg/kg 1x daily for 7days.” – poor thing this is in line w: 

1. Giardia infection in cats may lead to weight loss
2. chronic intermittent diarrhea and fatty stool. 
3. occasionally contains blood. 
4. Vomiting may occur in some cases. – Sheba didn’t vomit only. 

Poor baby got to celebrate bday in mfh and got to eat medications here.  

All meds will start tonight. 

3pm: baby wipes her – she don’t like and brush her. Maybe black fur v clear, all over the floor. 

She like to be sayang don’t want to be carried 

415pm: serve ciao cup snack got eat 

Weight: 3.8kg gain back 110g 

Night: happy like small little girl see I back. 

Poo 2.5/10 

Given probiotics first as usual she is fine w it. 

Tonight she free roam. 

Given metroconazole first seem quite ok. Quickly give fenbendazole also ok, good girl follow ah boy just swallow don’t think. Smart. 

Serve dd jelly and pure – she got eat. 

Morning: back to 1.75/10, Erm did mummy read logbook? Asked clinic on whether I can send in fecal sample. 

1pm: wanna collect her poo, don’t have, so can’t send out to clinic yet. 

530pm: no new poo so can’t send out to clinic yet. 

940pm: poo 2+4/10, urine rather yellow

Probiotics given orally n into kibble bowl 

She ate ciao cup 

Morning: poo 4.5/10

Didn’t touch Kakato omg 🙂 kibble cat. V nua n Manja me. 

230pm: no new pee poo 

Sheba 15.3.22 Tues 

Morning: poo 4.5/10 – wa she want to go back to 猫房 5G to celebrate her bday ah. Maybe can if poo continue so good. 

But I do feel her urine r kind of more yellow 

720pm: I serve ciao cup as snack – she eat. Got new poo- 2.25/10

1030am: poo still 2, today must restart probiotics alr 

Noon: top up earthmade, she

Got eat, her position of eating face Princess who is in next room growling but she hack care

Poo aren’t great cos started aixia oldie ? Omg have to stop giving her this 

Night: 3.5/10 – getting better but

Don’t think can discharge this week

330pm: no new poo

Got eat dd pure salmon 

Night: got eat aixia oldie. Today skip probiotics. 

Morning: poo 3+1.25/10 Erm … 

5pm: poo 2/10 rushing to work 

night: don’t eat much wet food, ate kibble 

Overnight: got poo 2.5/10

Just 1h later got poo again 2/10 

At least I don’t see blood. 

630pm: snack round: no new pee n poo 

Night: no new poo. Did eat, today free roam room b+e 

Morning: got poo 4.5/10 no blood ok. Got pee (yellow) 

Got eat a bit of the food I serve. Yesterday food all not touched. Today like normal, I come in she meow welcome me. 

134pm: scare the hell out of me – Sheba missing, can’t be mah … omg. She is sitting on top of my aircon 

3pm: check: floor got some blood shit stain, Sheba poo (poo hole look clean), poo 2/10, w traces of blood again. 

She got eat kibble. 

Did I record yesterdsy that her weight is 3.69kg? Lost 700g leh. (This is when she is eating well at 猫房)

Morning; buy a new litterbin for Sheba – bringing her back to mfh for monitoring. 

active when I reach 猫房, I only put her into bag when we r leaving, banging in the bag loh, I so scare bag will give Way. Lucky not metal box, face sure disfigured. 

I hug her all the way back in case bag open up.  Calm I use finger sayang her. 

Reach 猫房 she is in room E, she sub consciously want run into HER room c. Princess hiss but not that aggressive towards Sheba, means she still know Sheba.

When she is in, capture a better photo of her fur – either fur mites? Or she scaratxh the Peepad in bag till the white dust all over her body. Most prob b4 bringing her back to 猫房 will bath and spa. 

5pm: didn’t walk about, didn’t use bin yet.  serve ciao cup for snack round. 

Night: same spot. Didn’t come out. Didnt turn fierce. Didn’t eat ciao cup. 

Serve Dd pure and Tuna w chicken. 

Didn’t use bin. No poo n pee. 

Morning: catch her peeing when I haven’t put new sheet of unicharm Peepad – yellow pee concentrated. But slight more yellow. 

Poo 2.75/10 (core point: w blood) – informed mummy: “Hmmm I think can monitor for awhile more. “ – will bring her to MFH for monitoring tmr. Still eating normally. Run jump walk mix normally. will start probiotics n nutriplus gel. 

Morning: didi today almost want whack sheba- I remind him she is the girl leh!! He just walk away, maybe really mix up 

Sheba 1.3.22 tues 

Morning: didi really want to attack Sheba. She manage to jump off – angry w me loh. Got eat. 

Sheba 2.3.22 wed 

Day: got see her use bin 02 – should be peeing la 

Night: got see her eat kibble 

Day: put up 2 new beds, she choose the blue one, stitch choose the ducky one 

Night: so good w so many cats ah. Daring sniff her butt, didi can head butt her leh 

Morning; got drink water on her own, good terms w ah boy, Brownie, junior. 

Got see her eat kibble at buffet tray on her own every now n then. 

Today I bring water bowl to her she got drink 

Night: I just feel she is dry dry. She did eat.
